I'm pretty fussy I want the halter look with lovely WP movement
If anyone has any other possible one night stand (AI)suggestions let me know, I also really love Pass Judgement too oh and he needs to be 15.2hh plus and take into account my mare is a lovely buckskin dun

my new girl is by Corporate Image. great WP lines and good enough to halter too.

Your girls sire is in America PCB ... so its frozen and thats more expensive and more problems ... Linksys would be better off finding something here.
Your little girl is more a performance horse than halter horse PCB, she will halter fine at local and ok at state but she wouldnt compete with the big guys at national level .... they would eat her for breakfast! LOL

Spoke to my trainer last night about the plan for next show season, which I thought was getting me rolling...
Anywho, he kinda wants another season with the horse to really solidify his training/showing before he lets me loose with him...completely understand and a great plan, as in the grand scheme my boy is 2 years behind his fellow competitors in terms of showing and training (which made his 2nd place at NPHA all the more magic)
So...that leaves me without anything to ride and show for at least another 18 months if not longer, nearly 2 years
Sooooooooo Im looking for the absolute impossible...a WP schoolmaster to lease for 1-2 years that I can get out and show and gain much needed ringcraft and experience in the pen.
Needs to be super quiet (I can get nervous out showing), super broke, super trained...basically no mess, no fuss, that I can work at home myself, throw into a float and go show
Now I know this is the horse every man and his dog wants..and they are rare as hens teeth and worth a fortune, but never hurts to ask.
Doesnt need to be a world beater, but need to be very quiet and well trained...
Great home with referrences available...lease contract...constant contact...etc etc...
Just putting it out there

We had the Ian Francis clinic over the weekend .... and im still trying to recover ... at least today I feel a little more grounded
Was a great weekend, apart from the bitterly cold weather and lack of sleep, was a really really good group of people and its seems that most people got a lot of good stuff to go on with so thats terrific!
Thought I would just share a few photos of my new boy, its the first lot of photo's I have that actually have me riding him!

Is there a horsie your trainer can lend you or help you find? Its sooooo hard trying to find a lease horse in western yet you seem to be able to find them with english etc. And I agree you'd be a fantastic home !!!
Now off I go back to the stallion search, and in regards to the cremello, I'm not against them I actually like them, and now GP is back on my list haha

| Brittany Lacey wrote on Sun, 24 June 2012 20:33 | Hi,
I'm a new member to the forum & am after some advice re starting out in western.
I've been riding English my whole life, but have had some confidence issues thanks to a 'get chucked into a tree' fall... I'm now looking at getting back into riding properly.
I am moving back home to NZ in a month & this presents a perfect opportunity to try out something new. I've been a bit fascinated by Western after watching it at the shows & am curious as to how I should start out.
I was thinking that tracking down some people who would be willing to let me have a ride on their western horses to get a feel for it would be a good start?
Any advice would be much appreciated,
Brittany

Whereabouts are you located Brittany?
Also, what area of western are you most interested in pursuing? The western disciplines are quite different from each other and there are many of tgem eg western pleasure, trail, hunter under saddle, reining etc.....it would be worth looking into what discipline you think you'd enjoy the most to give you a starting point
Oh and welcome to the world of western, and Vichorse!

Hi, I am currently located in Far North Queensland, near Cairns. I know I'm not in Victoria, but this looked like a good forum regardless
Wow, there are a lot of western disciplines! The ones that I know of are western pleasure, reining, trail, and I only just discovered the classes over jumps. Reining looks like an absolute blast, as does trail. Although the hunter classes look like fun too...
Thanks!

There is a lot of "western" activity up your way, although im not sure how far up QLD way it goes. My advice is to get your bum on a western horse, doesnt matter what sort, reining, pleasure what ever ... it will give you a taste of what they can do ... they if you like it (most do ) try and locate some where that you can have a few lessons, the foundation stuff is all the same for every discipline ... so find some one that is good with that and then go from there.
There is a western movement in New Zealand as well ... so im not sure if you want to take it on before you head over there ... it might be easier to find trainers here thiugh
