Hi everyone, thought I might give everyone an update! Life is just wonderful at the moment! My little man is 7 weeks old,and thanks to a book called Babywise his sleep/feeding routine is pretty much sorted, he is sleeping through the night, though Mum still wakes (my body clock needs adjusting ).
I had a riding lesson 2 weeks ago, and had another one today - my horse is such a good boy, other than fitness and strength he has picked up right where we left off!!!
My Other Half is wonderful - supporting me to be getting out, having a ride and reminding me that everything else doesn't stop because there is a baby - though it's nice to sit and watch baby and do not much else!!
Hope everyone expecting is well, welcome to the new arrivals, and I hope all the babies are growing like mushrooms!!
Cheers Everyone!

Good evening ladies, I have just hit the 13 week mark
keeping it a secret is so hard, but hubby and I thought we
would start telling family and friends when we got the all
clear. So now the count down begins. I am scared $hit
less. I don't mind being pregnant, just scared of the birthing
part of things. Every thing so far is going to planned, no morning
sickness and have more energy than usual. Can any one explain
the procedure of a natural birth. Pain relief and what I'm gonna expect.
Also what do I need to buy my child, what sizes and how many
of each item. Sorry for all the questions I have never done this before.

Dont be scared I know its easy to say that.. its the most.. amazing thing ever!!
Talk to other mums, read up about positive birth stories - once your further along, talk with your OB, GP and midwives..
Look into the drugs you can take.. and the effects on baby.. and work out a heirachy..
ie: natural (nothing) .. then maybe gas.. then maybe something else etc as you go along on a scale of pain (which you wont know until your actually IN labour)
If you go naturally.. (no induction etc) .. all going well.. youw ill be past 37 weeks.. you will have a bit of backache, waters may break, or you will start getting regular contractions etc.. they are bearable at first, and your body releases endorphins and hormones to help you cope. All hospitals will be different about when you head in..
*** If you attend your antenatal classes, which i highly recommend, then the midwives etc will run over the stages of labour, signs, when to come in, drugs etc ***
Expect pressure (and pain) .. yup its going to hurt, but its a completely different pain from anything else you would have experienced.. and your going to have to PUSH like you have never pushed before haha.. some women LOVE it.. others are okay with it, others hate it.. you honestly wont know until your in there
When are you due will depend on what you need
And also what climate your in
Kids clothes
singlets
bonds wondersuits ( a godsend)
Anything pumpkin patch
socks (dont bother with booties.. they fall off)
bunny rugs
facewashers (to catch the spews)
bassinette
car seat
sling/pram
baby bath
baby temperature recorder (go a forehead one)
Nappies - disposable or cloth, depending on how you go
breastfeeding/bottle fed etc
Also keep in mind if you have a baby shower, a lot of ppl will bring gifts.
Dont go overboard.. once your further on, you will get an idea of what size bubs its going to be - 0000 is the general newborn size.. but you honestly dont need heaps
Also depends on money - op shops, second hand baby groups on facebook, other mums on here etc.. babies dont spend a long time wearing clothes, and there are HEAPS of great quality second hand stuff out there that you dont need to spend a fortune on.
and always feel free to PM me if you want to chat/ask questions.
I do recommend the Essential Baby forums to get a bit of an idea - but *warning* on the bitchy mothers

Just a quick check-in; I had my baby Xavier on 15th September, he came spot on his due date but only after a 40 hour (mostly excruciating!)labour. I eventually gave in trying to be brave and had the epidural--heaven-- and at 4.30pm had my beautiful slimy purple son plopped on my chest!!What a moment. Though I did score 8 stitches out of it all.....
We had 2 nights in at Frances Perry, and because all was going well we were transfered over to the Grand Hyatt for 2 nights which was a great transition to heading home. All has been going brilliantly, we're getting lots of rest and he is feeding and sleeping well-- we really can't complain, he's been (SO FAR) an angel
Stats are; 7lb 4oz and was 52.5cm long. He's 2 weeks old now and has already grown another 2 cm and put on 260gms. Not sure where he gets his height from, he's long and skinny!!!
Oh and YES the throwing up did stop, first time in 8 months, but of course my body did have to have a good chuck in labour for old time's sake. A lot of things I still dont like the taste of, but no more throwing up, so I'm happy with that!!!!
Absolutely LOVING this new life with baby Xave!

Just putting it out there...as I'm not having anymore kids..fingers crossed I'm trying to get rid of some stuff. If you guys know of anyone that would like to buy secondhand...but in near new condition let me know please I have an Avent electric steraliser and a nappy bin with a cartridge plus heaps of other things that I can't think of, they're all in storage and in excellent condition. I will be getting rid of the changetable and one cot soon too- well once Lachie is toilet trained
