What size are you?[ 101 vote(s) ]
1.sz 14 (30 inch) 24 / 24%
2.sz 16 (32 inch) 24 / 24%
3.sz 18 (34 inch) 18 / 18%
4.sz 20 (36 inch) 17 / 17%
5.sz 22 (38 inch) 8 / 8%
6.sz 24 (40 inch) 10 / 10%

I'm looking at importing plus sized riding clothes and am wondering what size the 'average' plus sized rider is.
Would love it if you could take the time to fill in this poll for me. The poll relates directly to what size JODS you wear.

Many thanks!! Very Happy

Please note the inch sizes are in stretched waist measurements. They stretch 6 inches so add 6 inches on to get a 'traditional' measurement you're used to. If I could update the poll off my phone, I would Smile

What size shoe are you?[ 95 vote(s) ]
1.size 6 2 / 2%
2.size 7 8 / 8%
3.size 8 21 / 22%
4.size 9 24 / 25%
5.size 10 20 / 21%
6.size 11 18 / 19%
7.size 12 2 / 2%

I'd also like to know what size boots larger riders wear. I've had a huge drama trying to get a pair so I know how difficult it can be. Have found a stockist who has great boots - just wanting to know which ones would be in more demand. If you could post saying what size calf you have, that'd also be helpful! Very Happy

Laughing At Bins. I agree.
Also are the inches out of whack? I bought some 38 inch jods from the UK and they fit me. I thought that was size 20??

With the boots, it is the calf size that is the problem rather that the foot size for me. Smile

Step away from the computer,
I think the inches are out to because im a size 12 and i dont think 28 inch would go any where near me! Laughing .... and by the looks of those results, people dont consider a size 14 a plus size

It might be better to find out what size jacket and what size jods. Cos i take a 22 or 24 in a jacket and a size 16 in jods. Broad shoulders and boobs are the bane of my buying life. At least with size 16 bottoms they are easy to find.

Laughing No I don't think 14 is a plus size but that's what size the jods start at hence my starting point. And there's obviously 9 people out there who see it as 'plus size' 'cause they came into the thread!!! Laughing Laughing Laughing
The inches are waist measurements, not hips. Will go back onto their website and re-post sizes in hip measurements as well Smile

My fuller fillies jods are 36's but I'm normally a 22 or 24 so as others have said, I think your size chart is out and Martina's even more so Shocked although I would be quite happy to buy smaller sizes that still fit Laughing Laughing

Prossie, what sort of long boots are you looking at importing? I was checking out some ariat one's in HL yesterday and they looked lovely but the 'regular' calf is more like stick figure.

I don't like attacking people. I didn't attack the OP, I attacked Western society for labelling the average woman as 'plus size'. Anyway, I am DELIGHTED with Prossie's idea on importing riding clothes and I will remember this thread and maybe one day contact you Prossie in need of a natty vest. Very Happy

Also whilst we're at it with the complaining about sizing etc.....
Along with ruining a completely innocent post with our insecurities.

How come you don't stock my size!!!?
Not my fault I work my guts out on a farm and happen to be a size 10 because of it. Really, it's my over active thyroid that does the trick. We can't all be size 14s...

Not really a two way street is it folks.

Wish I was blessed with your problem Shari Smile

No you dont Lee, not really.
Weight loss is only one symptom.

Everyone has problems and loads of people want to be other than they are. None of it belongs in this thread (irony, eat your heart out). Let's make a new one in off-topic. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

The forum drove me to drink. Remind me to thank it.
What ever your habbit or let's call it "problem" is, be it bigger or on the slim side .....
I do know not everybody can be a "STICK FIGURE" and not everybody "HUGE" has a fetish for coke/cocolate !!!

Personally, trying to cater for EVERYONE - got "bitten" as I have not moved any stock in bigger sizes Confused
So, SORRY ladies not buying in any more plus 16/18 size gear !
Simple as that
There might be a market out there, but if I am "sitting" on plus sizes (which are sooo wanted ?!) WHY are they not selling ?
Cheers MARTINA
PS: Sorry, I think everybody can tell - I am extremly frsutrated about that !
Have been understanding and have friend in the size range of 16 - 24+ ... and I have catered for them, but if you want to run a business ? - You obviously have to sell dirt cheap / for free or custom made ?! Rolls Eyes I am clueless

equissentials in NSW keep a limited stock of plus sizes. They started with the Fuller Fillies range and then moved to Kerrits and Horka and some other brands on their website. I have to give them enough notice and they are able to order them in for me. That way they do not have to have stuff unsold hanging around. And the suppliers seem to be very quick sending stock in. Fuller Fillies have nice stuff but the stockists were having a lot of trouble with supply on demand.

Sounds like a great idea what you're doing Smile i didn't know until this thread it could be harder to find those sizes, i always thought it was just me who couldnt find sizes easily, and honestly it doesn't matter what size you are, if you can't find it its just as annoying! Because everyone should be comfortable in their own skin Smile

I went to order some Dublin jods in at horseland the other week because i really really liked the pattern and they didnt have my size in so we started with the order and then she turned around and told me that they didnt make those ones in a size 8, at all. Which i was surprised at, surely i thought they would manufacture all sizes even if a larger percentage of certain sizes was sent out? Confused Has anyone else found this? Are size 8's generally not made anymore?
I tried so hard to get away with the 10 but it wasnt going to happen :/ i have other dublins in an 8. So this makes me wonder as well where do people who need size 6's get them from?

Im also going to add, please no one take offence to my post, i am not at all having a go at anyone, i know my sizing is different but it is not meant to offend, merely vent at how annoying it is to not have your sizing in/made and i think its great the OP is finding a solution for so many people - When you stock size 8's let me know!! Razz

Size 14 is PLUS SIZE??? Good lord, there's no hope for the world and I'm going to eat more easter eggs.

It is if you're four and a half feet tall!

@Martina... I would never have thought you would have plus size gear, as my experience of most European brands was they weren't available in such sizes...must just be what the shops order then! You should start threads everywhere telling people what you have! Cool

Reason being it probably because you havent really marketed to the plus size. You flog your saddle clothes and gloves but I've never heard to say plus size jackets etc. Your prices are out of my budget anyway but if there was something I really like I maybe would. The other thing is the sizing EVERYWHERE is different and buying offline is a big risk. I havent seen if you offer returns and I know your only open by appointment. So word of mouth about size hasnt gotten out yet.

In saying that Eu size 16/18 is prob equal to our 12/14 and most plus girls wouldnt fit in it anyway.
