Our club is considering holding a Trec comp in November this year. We would be running the event in conjunction with AEFL ( Australian Equine Facilitated Learning)
We are just starting to sort out dates etc will post when date is confirmed. As it will be the first one it would be on a small scale, may be 8 km for nav ride section and will require pre entry and we will limit entries. Once all details are sorted I will post them here.

Date will be the 11th of November
Sorting out the route for the Nav ride now and the 2 other stages being the control of pace and obstacle course will be on the club grounds.
We are also trying to decide on entry number limit, as been the first comp we are holding we want to ensure it runs as smooth as possible and is manageable for us as we are a small club.
Will definitely be open to non club members, under 18's will have to pair up with an adult competitor for nav ride.

Awesome, so i could ride the nav with my 13yo if both our horses are upto it...should get planning to be ready if the event goes ahead. Very exciting, hope it does

11th of November
will be pre entry of $50
refund only with vet/medical certificate
numbers will be limited to 40 for this event,as its the first one we want to make sure we it runs smoothly and we are all organised before having a larger event down the track.
under 18's must pair up with an adult for the event.
will let you know when entries will be accepted and how to get any forms etc as soon as we have it organised.
Will be held from Melton and District Adult Riding Club grounds
Bulmans Road
Melton
There will be canteen for the day and there are yards available,and water and toilets.
Would also want riders wearing a fluro vest for the nav ride, for safety and easily visible to officials.
Event is held in conjunction with AEFL- Australian Equine Facilitated Learning

You only NEED a partner if your under 18, partner has to be over 18.
If over 18 you can still choose to have a partner or compete as an individual, up to you.

TREC entry form for our comp on the 11th November is now available.
Pre entry only and payment must accompany your entry form
entries close 10th October
this allows us the time to send you any further info you will need for the day

Thinking of putting on an INtroduction to TREC seminar
who would be interested
would be held in Melton area
goes for 4-5 hours classroom style
would be great for those thinking of competing or running an event
would have to be a small charge of say $20 to cover cost of seminar
if enough interest I will organise it
Would be Run by AEFL

Excited and slightly crapping my pants about my definitely-to-be-green-ribboned horsie.
Just wondering, if we are competing as individuals, is there any way we can do the nav component with another individual on the day? I am envisaging still riding around at dusk unable to understand my map or compass
