Hey Guys,

Im 15 and want to start a part time job, just wondered how any of you manage to do this and have a horse during high school...

Also seing as this is my first job, any hints or tips? How much do they pay in stores such as Wendy's, Subway, etc..

In previous years ive found it easy to balance a job and school but being in year12 this year has made it alot harder Sad
I work at subway, Im 17 and only getting $10.50 a hour. I am looking for a new job though Laughing

Have you got a resume ready? Is anywhere around where you live hiring? Smile

I work most Saturday nights at 6 till quiet at a local resteranut and get about $10 an hour.

I manage to see my horse every day, after school to feed, and Saturday and Sunday to ride (unless the weather decides its not my friend Rolls Eyes )

It's pretty easy, depending on your hours Smile

If your dreams don't scare you, they aren't big enough! X

I do prefer my 2 part time jobs - I get to split my hours between 7-11 every morning (20hrs) and then usually 4-5 nights at the pub of 5-8hr shifts (about 30hrs a week) so I get my 'mid-days' 11am to 4 or 5pm free - I still compete most weekends - and did I mention fit in full-time uni study Cool

It really is just planning, dedication and stupidity
I mean as I sit her watching olympics (and between trolling Vichorse) and I attempting to get some uni work done! Very Happy

Full time job (40+ hours a week) and 4 horses. It's doable. Definatley...

I am however selling one or two due to giving up riding. Nothing to do with time, at all.

Part time job and horses are a piece of cake! Just plan well, stay committed and you'll breeze through it!

Anythings possible if you put your Mind to it...

Horseriding is the most fun you can have with your pants on... Smile

i work full time (38 hours a week)

im also currently riding three horses.

you just gotta get on.

wether you feel like it or not, just get your bum in the saddle Very Happy

Yes it is definately doable, but you need to be well planned with time management, I find it makes me more organised Smile

I'm in year 10 and doing tafe to!

i work 3 hours a fortnight and having one horse i'm going very good
i ride 3 times and i find i manage to do it Smile

Work Friday and Saturdays and either lunch or dinner shifts on Sundays. Don't have a horse currently but it all seems pretty doable from my perspective.
As long as I have the time to check the horse over and feed twice a day minimum then I don't need to ride everyday.

I work at Macca's and the pay is OK, any money is better than none. I manage my time pretty easily, get down to the horse everyday, my shifts are usually a Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday, so I ride on the days I can and the days I work on a weekday, I finish at around 8-9, and go down and feed Elphie after work. I can usually ride before or after work on a Saturday or Sunday. I also manage to do my homework in between that as well (yr 11, dreading yr 12)

It's doable, you just have to be dedicated, manage time and everything else everyone else has said Smile

Solved that problem by getting a job at a restaurant that only opens for dinner. Laughing Shifts start at 6:30 the earliest, which is perfect for me. Smile
