This is a genuine theft, this horse is well cared for, freely owned and not leased or the subject of any dispute. Gate locks were broken to gain entry to the property.

Stolen 10 September 2008 between 7:30pm and 9:00pm from a paddock in Huon Creek Road, Wodonga, NE Victoria. The horse may have been moved a significant distance over night. If you know the location of the horse, have any information, or you can assist the police to identify the following vehicles /persons sighted in the area , please contact Wodonga Police Station on (02) 6049 2600 or crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.

Larger built man wearing a cowboy hat and driving an older high set, 4WD, Beige/ Taupe coloured Ute (possibly an older series Landcruiser). The Vehicle was mounted with hunting lights over the cab and possibly also along the tray (two slightly varied witness descriptions in the dark). In small dark writing on the drivers side door was several lines of what appeared to be business details, in sticker format, with letters partly peeling off/missing. The Vehicle was towing a neat older style double float, with a pointed front, similar in shape to a Taylors float (may or may not have been wood), the float was painted white and had checkerplate on the point of the float. This vehicle appeared to be travelling in company with a white Subaru.

If a mistake has been made and the persons who took him wish to return him, please put him in the cattle yards at the Wodonga showgrounds and notify Wodonga Police that he is there. Wodonga Police (02) 6049 2600.

Thankyou

If it was a taylors float there would not be many of these around
perhaps if police could check vic roads records for taylors
floats registered in the Wodonga area might come up with something.

Also fax to all saleyards copy of what you have posted here, also
to all Horselands and as many feed stores as you can. As horsepeople frequent these places and may have seen the horse
somewhere or know of a new horse put at agistment or nearby farm
that fits his description.

This is a terrible thing to happen and I hope you get him back soon.

Thanks for the great advice. My dad and I have made a poster that we'll be putting up everywhere. We'll e-mail it to anyone who wants to print it out and post it in shops, vets, horseland, etc.
Any help is greatly appricated. He is a much loved horse and has no real value other than we love him alot.

I would be contacting someone from the Echuca sales too. There is a big fellow from NSW who is often there selling horses. I am not saying it is him, but certainly worth checking out.

Thank you all so much for helping. It means alot to us.
The horse community is amazing. You are all so helpful and nice.
I just hope that we can get Toby back. My dad has spent alot of time and energy with him and has such an emotional commitment to him. He's really attached to him and it's breaking his heart having him stolen, and possibly being hurt or killed by the knackery/the people who stole him.
He's a rude, stubborn ill-mannered horse but we love him anyway, especially my dad.

Ring the knackeries as well, letting them know the horse has been stolen. Would also try inter-state sale yards as well, you never know where the horse could end up.

Hope you find him.

Best of luck

No. The picture with his rug on was taken around July/August. The other picture was taken the day he was stolen. He had been rolling around in mud. If rolling is the correct word as he was COVERED in it. He looked horrible. and my dad had just been rubbing his neck when I took the picture, hence the mane.
He DOES have the white socks and the star.
But if people don't want him found, I'm sure they'd find ways to change his looks; IE, cut his tail and mane, put extenions in, make his socks and star bigger or smaller or non existant.
Saying this makes me think this is like finding a needle in a haystack Sad

Not trying to be funny because I truly hope you find your boy.

But in your description it says "two rear socks to the hock" his are to his fetlock - so you might want to change this Smile

There have been a couple of rough patches along the way, but if you hang around horses long enough the good things happen.

Hi Kittana, it's Nichole from the paddock. Hugs to you and your Dad tonight, I was checking to see how widely we had got this cross posted, when I saw that you were starting to cop some crap, so, I got myself a logon.

This horse was stolen from my agistment property and I can assure you that the photos are of the same horse. When I left the paddock at 7:30pm, he had been having a wonderful time wallowing in the mud and was too wet and muddy to be rugged, hence Kittana and her Dad coming back at 9.00pm to rug him and finding him stolen.

You can all be reassured that if you see a stolen notice on Horsedeals cross posted to a forum, that they will always be genuine. Horsedeals ring the police directly to verify that a police report has been filed, before they will publish it.

please show a bit of sensitivity and think about how you would be feeling if your horse was stolen.

Thankyou Beechworth Produce.

Can everyone please copy the first post and photo links and e-mail it to all your horsey freinds, that would help us to get the information more into peoples faces. I am hoping to get a chain e-mail started. Someone on another forum suggested it as worked for her to get her horses back a year later.
