Out of my way, I am in the midst of a hoo haa monologue
fleur has two whorls, one either side of her forelock (as does her brother)

she has a broken blood stain (not a big one, just a couple fo patches)

she has a splash of pink skin between her forelegs/on her chest

and a few birdcatcher spots (well, she has pink skin spots randomly over her body)

i remember when she was a bubbe she has a dark grey tail with the purest white streak through it too

and of course a few impressive scars like any good paddock horse!

Appies can and do colour up more over time, this is primarily due to Roan varnish

Pinky here had a mare born solid chestnut, no white, and by the time she was 12 was probably half and half white/chestnut

You girl may continue to "roan out" (not to be confused with roan horses which is completely different), her whole life

My mare is bay rabicano Smile It gets us stopped at anything we go to, even just on the trails. She also gets bird-catcher spots in summer. Different place each time! Last year she has couple on her bottom. They are not there this year. This year one has cropped up on her face, never seen THAT one come up before in the 11 or so years I've had her Smile And yes that's rabicano, not roan Very Happy

He's now 20 and I notice his varnish markings fading and getting more spots.
It's a natural thing for fewspot leopard crapaloosas.

My TB has a Prophet's Thumb and 2 whorl's on his forehead, on either side of his pitiful star. I think he might denote the whole idea that that makes them smart.

It never comes out in photos ... but my sabino TB gelding has a pale roan/cream coloured version of a "Bend Or" spot on his hindquarters. My redder chestnut has a small classic dark brown/black "Bend Or" spot just above his off side gaskin.

Two chestnut horses I worked with were covered in "Bend Or" spots in summer coat! Sealie had at least 15 of them and some were HUGE! Shocked

My Min has two whorls on her forehad between her eyes, and her foal had them as well. Min is definitely a very smart horse, the smartest one I've got Wink

One of Ari's children, Ellie, his first daughter, has sabino white markings including a white chin, she's got a little bit of white ticking through her coat, but just this evening I noticed a very concentrated patch of ticking on her spine, in the shape of a loveheart!

You mean Tetrach spots Martina? Smile

Named after the TB stallion "The Tetrach". Rather like Birdcatcher Spots are named after the TB stallion "Birdcatcher" and Bend Or Spots are named after the TB stallion "Bend Or". Both of my two red headed TB's trace back to Bend Or, and one (with a couple of little Bridcatcher spots) goes back to Bridcatcher. Neither go back to The Tetrach, though I haven't really investigated past Zamazaan on Q's dams side ... cos I think that's what his cream spot might be. But maybe not.

I don't think my horses have any special Crying or Very Sad

Forest has several whorls in his mane tho... Enough to make it not sit right...

Although I did once get asked at a comp if my horse was part Appy.... he has lots of grey/roaning on his legs and mane/tail - well what mane/tail he has Laughing He also has stripey hooves as a result.... But it's all just him being old and going grey... He has one registered marking - a small patch of white on a hind heel....

The only real photo of the grey bits is one I took when he arrived here as a rescue... And even that doesn't show it up as much.... he pretty much has roan socks up to his fetlocks.. Will try and get a better pic over the weekend...

My horses are all a bit weird ...
Witchy mare has substantial roaning on her bum, gets us stopped everywhere. Most really like it, I don't. She's a bog standard chestnut on one side, total freak on the other.
Pony is a taffy/silver bay. Changes colours with the seasons. In winter he's chocolate, in summer he's nearly black, has black points and dapples with his blonde mane and tail. Gorgeous.
I got a new girl just this week and she has two whirls on her face, then one on her bum, and is a liver chestnut. I might be a bit biased, but she's definitely clever too!
