Hi all,

I am sizing up the different feed balancer pellets out there and would like to know what brands you use and which are the most cost-effective. All Phase sounds simple enough but Prydes Easifeed has 4 different versions (15/20/25/30% protein).

Any feedback or recommendations welcome Smile

I prefer All Phase to Hygain balanced as All Phase cotains Chromium and Yea-Sacc as well the amino acids Lysine, Metheonine and Threonine.
All Phase also provides good levels of Calcium, Phosphorus and Magnesium.
All Phase works best in diets whose roughage primarily consists of cereal or grass hays.
Prydes 300 pellets have the best nutrient profile out of the Prydes range however they are still low in the Macro minerals Calcium Phosphorus and Magnesium.
All Phase, Balanced and Prydes 300 pellets all contain some wheat or wheat by products, if wheat needs to be avoided the KERs Gold pellet would be suitable.

Equivarna there are a couple of Ranvet supplements that dont contain iron. Have a look at Ranvets Aminovite-Plus as well as Ranvets Ration Balancer

I feed the Prydes 150 pellets, whole oats and prime lucerne hay which is quite cheap in the Riverina - it is actually balances out quite nicely and is a reasonably cheap ration. And my boy looks a million bucks Very Happy

I won a couple of bags of Easiresult not so long ago also, so feed that a bit too, although I prefer unmolassed feeds.

I have been experimenting with palatability and availability and strangely enough I can't find a feedstore in Ballarat, or Ararat that regularly stock anything but Hygain Balanced. I ordered in some All Phase through Petstock (took 2 weeks and $40 a bag) and had mixed results with palatability within the herd. Have ordered some Prydes Easifeed and Mitavite Promita Breeder from MegaMerch and have some Hygain Balanced to try out in the meantime.

Cool Grouch has just switched me onto the 300 pellets. all balances out well nutrient wise, and very cost effective.

If you can't tell sh!t from clay, don't take up sculpting.
