Will it be fun if I have a great big hairy beast of a horse? Laughing

He is a hunter and a half but it's so close might be a bit of fun? Or is it too showy to be fun? Shocked

hmm yeah last year was very hot, and my grandma came to spectate and sat out in the sun to watch the arabs! of course they did put us right down the back (as usual Rolls Eyes ) and they gave gave us so little room we couldnt do a figure of eight (could barely do a 20m circle)

fingers crossed with the events spread out that the arenas are planned better!

They only have a set amount of room jaz..tis a good show tho, but it can get very hot & dusty. And if you are camping over don't park near the chook judging....darn roosters start up at dawns crack Laughing

completely understand there is only limited room, but they could have arranged it a bit better so the arenas were a bit more even! the hunters had a massive amount of room, if they cant give the handful or ridden arabs classes more room, why dont they fit them in between the galloway or hunter classes and let us use a decent workout area? and keep led classes in the smaller space?

Basically as alot of others have said.

The best and most correct thing to do is drive the horse so forward that he has no choice other than to take the contact. Then he is truly on the aides and in front of the leg.

You can use spirals and counter bend and flexion whilst pushing forward so the horse again has no choice but to move up into the contact.

At the moment I have 2 horses from clients who are broken at the neck and due to this don't want to take the connection correctly.

After 10 minutes of bending flexing and really going for it forward in the Trot they are already significantly better. Essentially have to get the relaxed back and long neck....

Within 3 rides give or take you can fix this.

ITS ALL ABOUT THE FORWA
RD DRIVE!!!! Very Happy

Oh and bits are relatively irrelevant as long as it some sort of snaffle you are fine.
Size is fine as long as it's not pinching. Bigger rather than smaller.

hey sw, Smile metal cheek pieces are more the joining circles that sit over the cheeks and join all the leathers together for the noseband...not sure if this makes sense Confused , so not strictly cheek pieces, I would think Rolls Eyes best get a picci as an eggsample Laughing

Query is for EA and HRCAV, not sure what PCAV rules are either in relation to this? Cool

I've actually just swapped from the sweet iron to a Sprenger loose ring french snaffle in the last week and the horse is going supa doopa in it. This was after being advised by 2 instructors to drop the sweet iron. She goes really well in it and I'm about to purchase one, gulp, lot of money for a bit but if it works its worth it eh!!

Links to buy Wild Hearts Can't be Broken (Around 13AUD)

I really never had a problem tracking it down Confused I remember seeing it in one of the larger chain stores (I forget which) for under $10. Anyway, Australian-based alternatives.

JB HiFi.

Sanity.

EzyDVD.

Big W.

And some UK links. Prices range from about £3 to £6, and AUD is quite strong against GBP at the minute.

HMV.

Amazon.

Tesco.

flicker

Does that mean Flicka? My Friend Flicka? And, whichever it is, you love it so much that you get the name wrong?

I understand that. You get so excited thinking about how much you loved a film that you can't even think of the name of it.

I get like that with um... that movie. You know the one. That guy is in it... God I love that movie.

Maybe "Flicker" is a different film altogether. About a horse with a repressed desire to become a fashion photographer, but is instead forced into the world of Grand Prix showjumping by an overbearing broodmare. A wrong side of the stables kind of story.

Sarah Jessica Parker could play the love interest. A fashion designer who looks past the hooves and sees him for his talent with a camera.

http://sarahjessicaparkerlookslikeahorse.files.wordpress.com/2010/01/121.jpg

I think they make a great couple.

Click for spoilers about Flicker's ending

I'd watch it Cool

Universal announced today that it has acquired the rights to produce three films and an NBC series based on the seven novels, short stories and comic books from Stephen King’s The Dark Tower. Ron Howard will direct the first film and the first season of the TV show, which will be written by Akiva Goldsman (The Da Vinci Code).

“I’ve been waiting for the right team to bring the characters and stories in these books to film and TV viewers around the world,” said King, in a statement. “Ron, Akiva, Brian along with Universal and NBC have a deep interest and passion for the The Dark Tower series and I know that will translate into an intriguing series of films and TV shows that respect the origins and the characters in The Dark Tower that fans have come to love.”

More than 30 million copies of The Dark Tower have been sold in 40 countries. After the series of seven books was completed, a prequel of comic books based on one of the characters was also published.

“The worlds of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower series are richly detailed, inter-locking and deeply connected,” said Goldsman in a statement. “By telling this story across media platforms and over multiple hours—and with a view to telling it completely—we have our best chance of translating Roland’s quest to reach The Dark Tower onto screen. We are proceeding with tremendous excitement, fidelity to the source material and, quite frankly, no small amount of awe at this opportunity.”
