For those of you interested.. In a tight finish the USA triumphed over Germany in the third round of the Nations Cup, to maintain their overall lead in the series. It was interesting to see that the German's, who had announced the participation earlier in the week, by what can only be described generously as their C team, wound up fielding a team that consisted 50% of their A team and 50% of their B team. Seems things are starting to settle down after the FN and FEI witch hunt..And good to see the FN was stopped in their tracks by legal issues and all has been restored..

Switzerland was third, and it was a sad day to see the retirement of arguably their greatest showjump rider, Markus Fuchs..It was not his day and he ended his career on a disapointing 16 faults..

Completely Insane

I got a phone call (not sure of the ladies name) a couple of weeks after TTT CT saying that I had won a prize in the raffle.

we agreed that I would collect it this weekend at the HT from a member of KGARC as I am helping out.

I'll be there on sunday from 8am till around noon (im out on xc jump judging). If anyone here is competing for KGARC or knows someone who is, please PM me as I will give you my number so i can be contacted on the day (I feel like im organising some sort of shifty drug deal) just so nobody is waiting around for some random raffle winner to turn up Razz

thanks Smile

Step away from the computer,

Hi!

I am hoping to have some regular lessons on dressage and jumping schoolmasters in order to try and continue to improve my riding. By schoolmaster I mean an educated horse - not just something quiet. I have something quiet, but being only 3 with about 20 rides under her belt so far we are mostly concentrating on riding out and very basic flat work.

I live near Melbourne airport - so would need to go somewhere within reasonable driving distance from here. Catherine Birmingham or even Balmoral would have been great for the dressage lessons - but both are way over the other side of the city.

Can anyone recommend any instructors that might be able to provide this service for me?

Thanks!
Erin

Troppo. Loco. Round the twist.
i am wanting to try to organise a clinic at North eastern pony club as a fundraiser for the fire victims

i am volunteering to instruct.
but am looking for a "big name" instructor.

i was also thinking it would be great if we could get a natural horsemanship type instructor, as we dont do alot of that at the club.
or a lunging expert, who can run a bit of a demo etc on lunging correctly and using different equipment.
or any other ideas that people might have. we have mostly kids at the lower levels.
also was thinking that it would be good to have maybe an expert on horse first aid to come and speak, or an expert on nutrition...

when i say expert, i am using the term loosely, if you know a fair bit about any topic, im sure it would make an interesting discussion/ pannel etc etc.

if you know of people who could help let me know.

I think I am going to try and make some jump wings. Found an easy pattern on the web, just need to work out how to hold the poles on.
Any ideas would be great.
I don't know if I can add the link here. But the upright pole just has one hole on the inside for a cup but that could be changed. It also uses wood 100mm x 100mm square

Just attended his two day clinic and thought it was utterly and completely fantastic. I learned so much (2 x 1 hour semi private lessons). Even though Fanny and I were the scrubbiest (and undoubtedly by far and away the most inexperienced combination there - everyone else had at least done 1*) and I was completely out my depth he improved my technique (and consequently hers)amazingly in two hours.

If anyone ever gets the opportunity to go to one of his clinics - GO! Third mortgage the house, sell the family for scientific research, anything!

And Fanny was totally amazed by a stable - don't think she's seen one before. Hadn't seen lots of gum trees, kangaroos or a totally enclosed indoor arena with signage either. She was OK with these but thought the hosing dock was full of hot coals!

Still on a total high!! Very Happy
