Hello everyone, I'm looking to potentially ride prelim on my brother's "youngster" at Heytesbury EV HT and I'm curious as to what the course is like?

Horse has competed a few intro's and open 3s and come home with sucess, so I'm looking to take him up a level. Would Heytesbury be the place?

Thanks all, have a great day Very Happy

I was just curious to what you guys thought about the Training Scale? It is more an American thing as far as I know, but they have a lot of success with training when they go by the training scale. Like they dont follow it religiously, but they train "in the order" so to say of the training scale.

I see so often riders who immediately jump to working a horse on a contact before it is either supple or has any rhythm. And if there's any problems further along in training, they dont recognise that there may be a problem with the very basics, or the lower levels of the scale.

Do you think it would help if we went by the scale more?

I'm not saying its right or wrong, or what people do already is right or wrong, or anything of that sort! I'm just curious about what others think about the scale Wink

edit: DOH! This was meant to be in dressage! Sorry!

Has anyone heard of have one of the new jackets I've seen out there? I saw 2 riders at Mortlake with them on today. They have fitted sleeves and from where I was sitting looked like they may have been made from a stretch material but still looked formal. They had a white logo on the left arm just above the elbow. Thought I would be able to come home and google to find them but have drawn a blank so thought I'll ask on here.

Step away from the computer,
Yes i know theres a topic already but im looking for more specific ones......

Ok, so i need some new xc boots and i was wondering what i should get.
He overreaches (up his legs) and brushes his legs together, if he knocks jumps 99 times out of 100 it will be with his hooves.
HE also has awkwardly shaped legs, his front legs are small around but just smaller than full length and his back legs are medium around and full size in length (if that makes sence)
And i dont have an overly huge budget
SO yeah

Suggestions please!!!!

Hi all

I booked a spot at the Ballarat Hickstead eventing clinic on Sat 13 Feb (SJ and XC) but will be unable to attend. The organsiers have a non-refundable policy so if I do not find someone to take my place I will still have to pay.

Is anyone interested? Please let me know, if necessary we can come to an arrangement re the cost...

I have just got my dalmar boots, but the company I bought them off didn't ask what size I wanted or what size my horse is and just sent me mediums for my 16.1 tb. I had previously tried on a large pair and i think they fitted ok, so im not sure about the fit of the mediums. What size do you have and how big is your horse? If you have a pic of how they fit even better!
Thanks Smile

I have just been notified by our event secretary, that the folder with the entry forms that had the addresses of all our placegetters, has disappeared.

This means that while we have the names of the people that placed but weren't at presentations, we don't have their postal addresses.

If anyone knows anyone that placed and hasn't got their ribbons, could you please ask them to email me at lisa.alderson@beagle.com.au or pm me, and I can get them express posted.

Sincere apologies for this, it seems like at the end of a long day someone has thrown away the folder, and despite searching cars, and even driving back to Wandin to search bins, it has not turned up.

Salvador Fabregas is coming to Australia in March and there is currently a vacancy in his schedule between his clinics in Perth and his stay with Mark Todd in NZ to host some clinics in Melbourne. I am currently looking for a riding club/venue who may be interested in hosting these clinics.

Salvador was Chef d'Equipe of Spains 3 Day Event team for the Seoul and Barcelona Olympics, for the Stockholm World Equestrian Games and for the European Championships at Burghley and Punchestown. He has trained with several Olympic riders, including Capt. Mark Phillips and Richard Meade of Great Britain, Santiago de la Rocha and Juan Matute. Salvador can offer clinics ranging from indermediate riders right through to 4 star level in both Dressage and Eventing.

If any club or individual Equestrian complex is interested in this amazing opportunity to have one of the worlds leading coaches teach at your club please call or PM me. Also if anyone would be interested in attending please also feel free to contact me.

The Baltic Horse Show was run this weekend in Germany and incorporates the Holstein Masters..

The middle tour was won by German showjumping legend Franke Sloothaak, with Piet Raymakers jnr second (some may remember Raymakers snr as the one responsible for Ratina Z, he took her to her first Olympics and trained her to the top before money forced the sale to Ludger Beerbaum's sponsor)and third was Carsten Otto Nagel.. For a full list try here http://eventcontent.hippoonline.de/437/sta_erg/03_ergDEU.htm ?style=kiel

The final of the 7 and 8 year old youngsters was won by Irishman Denis Lynch, with Christian Ahlmann second and Carsten repeating his middle tour performance rounding out third place. http://eventcontent.hippoonline.de/437/sta_erg/10_ergDEU.htm ?style=kiel

What a final in the Holstein Masters Grand Prix. Such a tight finish 34.85 seconds won and 34.97 was second. Congrats to Irishman Cameron Hanley on Livello for his fraction of a second win over Franke Sloothaak..Another Irishman Denis Lynch was third.. http://eventcontent.hippoonline.de/437/437online1DEU.htm?sty le=kiel
